Dona Holleman

Website: www.donaholleman.com/

Dona Holleman started studying Oriental philosophy at the age of twelve while living on the island of Java. Her main focus was Buddhism and Taoism, but since a very early age, her real interest has been the body and its mysteries. Thus, when she came in contact with yoga in the fifties, it became immediately her main path. In the mid-sixties she met and studied with B.K.S. Iyengar, and has spent the last thirty years since then exploring the various aspects of yoga in her own practice and teaching, learning only from her own body.

Quote:

When you practice, you don’t practice for an effect. You don’t practice for the onlooker. You don’t practice to get some wonderful enlightenment or whatever. You practice simply and purely because you like practicing. You know, because it feels good, your body feels good. So then it becomes much more simple and it becomes much more honest.
